Restorative processes bring those harmed by crime or conflict, and those responsible for the harm, into communication, enabling everyone affected by a particular incident to play a part in repairing the harm and finding a positive way forward. This video looks at the how the thoughtless actions of a group of local teenagers affected a small community and how the restorative process had a positive effect for both sides.

The teaser gives an intriguing taste of what the product is all about, without overloading the viewer with too much information.

The motion graphics, while created in a variety of programs (Cinema 4D, Motion 5 and After Effects), all seamlessly flow together to simply yet elegantly convey the technology within Timecode Buddy, the ease at which you can use the system and the unique design and functionality aspects of the products and app.

This exciting new suite of timecode products is available to purchase in the UK from 19 March. Products to be launched at NAB Vegas 16 April 2012.

First up is Frame Forge 3D, a great tool for pre-vis which allows you to build a location, add characters and virtual cameras that allow you to dial in  aspect ratio, lens variables and other factors. Once complete you can view these animatics and or export PDF storyboards that include a plethora of other information.

Another option I tried was Cinemeks Storyboard composer, this is a great iOs app that allows you to use the iPhone camera to stage shots and then augment these images with a stock library of camera moves, characters and even record narration. This can then be outputted via email as a PDF or Quicktime file.

Both of these tools have been a great help but I still find myself reaching for my pencil to doodle. Like all good software I find it complements your workflow as opposed to replace it…
