We have a lot of experience across a wide variety of sectors, commercial real estate, hotels, care homes, student accommodation, private equity, project finance, and even though the financial risk inherent across all of those sectors is slightly different, we find having that deep expertise across all of those sectors allows us to fertilise ideas, and what different sectors are using in terms of financial risk management can be utilised elsewhere, so thats really important to us. All of our consultants here can work across all of those sectors. In addition to that, we’re very heavily reliant on technology and we have to make sure our technology is constantly being developed around market data, pricing systems, but we will never replace the human element of our service with technology. We believe what we offer is helping people really understand some of the intricacies of dealing in derivatives and that has to come through teaching and talking through it. So technology is important, but it will never replace who we are, and human being to human being.
We help a whole variety of clients understand the financial risk of businesses, whether they are going into new transactions or just as part of their day to day business. We help them understand the financial risk exposures they have, we help them then go around creating a strategy to hedge those financial risks, and we create the interest rate hedging strategy, the foreign exchange hedging strategy, and we help them through the process of executing that hedge.
The real core of what we aim to do is to make sure that our clients put in place optimal financial risk strategies, and understand the repercussions of those strategies that they’re entering into. The use of derivatives is particularly complex, and most of the clients we work with will be infrequent users of those products, the sellers of those products hold all of the information about how they’re structured, how they’re priced, and our clients don’t have access to that information. We provide all of that information to make sure they make the right decisions for their businesses at that time.
