#LifeOrKnife – Part 2

Life or knife – The Impact of knife association

At TINKER TAYLOR – in partnership with West Midlands Police, we are deeply involved in the #LifeOrKnife campaign, dedicated to making our communities safer by raising awareness and prompting action.

The #LifeOrKnife initiative offers vital resources for parents and educators in the West Midlands, aiming to prevent such tragedies. Our ongoing video campaign not only tells these urgent stories but also drives home the message: The choice is yours.

Through sharing his story, Ronan’s family hopes to illuminate the devastating impact of knife crime and encourage better choices.

Part 2 of #LifeOrKnife features a poignant video podcast led by @Craig Pinkney, where individuals touched by knife crime share their powerful stories in a candid panel discussion.

Making the project

Pursuing projects with purpose is behind everything that we do at Tinker Taylor. To have this opportunity was not taken for granted; it continues to be handled with the utmost care by our team. We were honoured to be approached for this campaign, recognising the critical importance of raising awareness about knife crime among young people in Birmingham.

Upon receiving the brief, we immediately gathered our internal team together to find four voices which help to create a comprehensive, insightful look into the reality of knife crime in Birmingham. Craig, Will, Nikita and Paul were all fantastic to work with and we are extremely grateful for the passion and time that they shared with us when filming.

We were also thrilled to welcome Rakia, an apprentice from Birmingham Children’s Trust, to our team. Rakia became an invaluable member whilst working with us; skilfully shooting and editing a behind-the-scenes video which beautifully captures the dedication and effort poured into this impactful project. To watch her video, take a look at our recent article on #LifeorKnife.

Take a stand.

#LifeorKnife isn’t about telling young people what is right or wrong but showcasing the realities of knife crime, the significant impact it can have and highlighting the importance of choices.  Join us in the fight against knife crime. Share Ronan’s story, engage with our video podcast, and use our resources to educate your community. Every action counts. Together, we can make a difference and save lives.
