Tinker Taylor produced Relentless, a powerful media campaign that sheds light on the demanding working conditions of police officers in Scotland, aiming to reshape public perception of policing.

Brief

Explore and shed light on the working conditions of police officers in Scotland, providing an in-depth look at the challenges, demands, and realities they face daily. By showcasing their experiences, responsibilities, and the pressures of modern policing, the goal is to foster a more accurate and balanced public perception. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between public understanding and the realities of law enforcement, highlighting both the dedication of officers and the structural issues that impact their work.

From the moment we received the brief, we knew this film would be most powerful as a single continuous take – mirroring the relentless, high-stakes reality of a police officer’s daily shift, where life-threatening, traumatic, and emotionally charged situations unfold without pause. The result is a deeply moving film, shot entirely within a single block of flats in Glasgow.

We launched a comprehensive campaign for the SPF, investing in media to maximise the film’s reach across Scotland. Our strategy included out-of-home advertising, targeted social media promotions, and high-impact cinema launches to ensure the message resonated with as many people as possible.

We also developed a campaign media toolkit, featuring a comprehensive communications pack designed for charities, councils, and stakeholders – essentially anyone looking to support and amplify the campaign.

Results

The Relentless OOH campaign features 21 roadside, 15 rail, and 23 bus rear advertising placements across Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee, and Inverness—delivering nearly 3.7 million impressions over two weeks.

The Sky Ad campaign will reach 2 million households across Scotland, while a six-week paid social campaign will target Meta platforms, YouTube, and TikTok.

Overall, the campaign is expected to reach at least 10.7 million adults in Scotland.
