Create a visually immersive and emotionally resonant video that embodies the University of Wolverhampton’s core values: inclusivity, diversity, supportiveness, and friendliness. The narrative should focus on the personal journey of a distinguished alumnus, celebrating their achievements while inspiring pride and a sense of belonging among current and prospective students.
In this poignant campaign, we collaborated with alumnus Nate Ethan Watson, known as the UK’s first trans rapper, to bring the University of Wolverhampton’s brand vision to life through powerful spoken word. The film captures Nate’s journey at the university, highlighting the triumphs, trials, and transformative moments that shaped his experience.
To create a dynamic and ethereal visual experience, we designed a walkway of projected memories and visuals for Nate to navigate. Semi-transparent screens gave the projections a holographic, dream-like quality, immersing viewers in a world of floating memories. By using projectors creatively, we seamlessly integrated Nate’s spoken word with visuals of his time at the university, focusing on authenticity—Nate’s own words, track, and life projected around him without embellishment.
The final film is a powerful and artistic piece that deeply connects with viewers, showcasing the heart and spirit of the University of Wolverhampton while celebrating Nate’s unique journey. It resonates as a testament to the transformative experience of being part of this vibrant university community.
“The team was highly professional, creative, and collaborative, ensuring that every detail was handled with care and precision. I’m proud to have contributed to this project, and look forward to working with them again.” – Nate, First UK Trans Rapper
